How Rowmotive handles content

Rowmotive helps you sort, check, and score the rows of your own tables. We want you to be able to ask almost anything of your data. Our policy has two tiers. A narrow set of harmful uses is blocked. Sensitive topics, such as health, money, tax, and legal questions, are allowed and come with a disclaimer.

Before an AI column is filled, an automated check reads its task: its instructions and allowed answers. The check does not judge the rows in your table. Sorting harmful text in order to find, moderate, or study it is an allowed use.

Tier 1: Blocked uses

We do not fill an AI column whose purpose is to help cause serious harm. A blocked column uses none of your answers. You can edit its instructions or remove it.

  • Violence or weapons. Rating materials or plans for making weapons or explosives, or planning attacks. Allowed: Flagging messages that threaten violence so your team can respond.
  • Encouraging self-harm. Encouraging or giving instructions for self-harm or suicide. Allowed: Flagging support messages that mention self-harm so a person can reach out.
  • Sexual content involving minors. Any sexual content involving minors. Allowed: Detecting such content in order to report and remove it.
  • Harassment or hate. Targeting people with harassment, threats, or hate. Allowed: Sorting comments to find and moderate harassment.
  • Fraud, scams, or other crimes. Helping commit fraud, scams, theft, or other crimes, such as picking the most convincing scam messages. Allowed: Detecting phishing, spam, or fraud attempts.
  • Stalking or surveilling individuals. Finding or tracking where a specific person lives, works, or goes in order to follow, expose, or harm them. Allowed: Finding posts that expose someone's address so they can be removed.
  • Judging people by protected traits. Inferring traits such as race, religion, health, or sexuality in order to treat people differently. Allowed: Measuring whether your own decisions treat groups fairly.

Tier 2: Sensitive topics, allowed with a disclaimer

AI columns about these topics are filled normally. The app shows a disclaimer next to them, because AI answers are general information and can be wrong.

  • Health. Answers about health are general information for sorting your data, not medical advice. Consult a qualified health professional before acting on them.
  • Mental health. Answers about mental health are general information for sorting your data, not mental health advice or care. If someone may be in danger, contact local emergency services, or call or text 988 in the US.
  • Money and tax. Answers about money, tax, or investments are general information for sorting your data, not financial, tax, or investment advice. Consult a qualified professional before acting on them.
  • Legal. Answers about legal matters are general information for sorting your data, not legal advice. Consult a licensed attorney before acting on them.
  • Decisions about people. Answers about people's jobs, housing, credit, or insurance can be wrong or biased. Do not use them as the only basis for a decision about a person, and follow the laws that apply to you.

Every AI answer

AI answers can be wrong, incomplete, or biased. They are general information for sorting your data, not professional advice, including medical, legal, financial, tax, or psychological advice. Review answers before relying on them, and consult a qualified professional before making important decisions. Rowmotive does not take any action based on an answer.

Your data

Only submit data you are allowed to process. Avoid passwords, payment card numbers, government ID numbers, and health records. Do not upload content that is itself illegal to possess or share.

Mistakes, reports, and enforcement

Automated checks can block a legitimate task or miss a harmful one. If you think a column was blocked by mistake, or you want to report misuse, contact feedback@lifehacklabs.org. We may suspend accounts that repeatedly try to get around this policy.
